How are Your Extended Auto Warranty Claims Handled?

You may be able to choose any service dealer or authorized repair center

Some Extended auto warranty plans may require you to return to the selling dealer
for repairs as provided under the coverage agreement.
This provision could be inconvenient if you purchased the vehicle from a dealership in another area.
(I would stay away from these)

In advance find out if repairs to your car will be covered while you
are traveling and how these claims will be paid.
Ask if you are covered in the event of an out-of-town move during the warranty period.

If you are limited to a specific repair facility, find out if it maintains an adequate stock of parts.
You could experience long repair delays if parts are not readily available and must be ordered.

Deciding on a service contract company will depend on your particular budget
and how the extended warranty contract addresses and meets your needs.

For your protection, get answers to the following questions:

  • Does the extended auto warranty plan offer a toll-free number for easy use 24 hours a day 365 days a year?
